The Essentials of Canadian Grown Lavender
Often mistaken for a flower, lavender is in fact part of the mint family, making it an herb. It has long been noted for its strong fragrance, which has been used for masking unpleasant scents beyond just “decay” throughout history. Lavender, however, can be used as an anti-inflammatory and has huge relaxation properties, making it popular in aromatherapy and massage oils.
Keeping it Natural – Building a Personal Swimming Hole
Far from appearing scummy or stagnant, this pond was filled with clear natural water – and required none of the work that a pool did to keep it fresh.
A Complete Renovation To A 150 Year Old Zina St Home
“The house was in poor shape. The roof leaked, the basement leaked, and the toilets leaked.”
But the full extent of those problems would not become evident until much later in the renovation process. The first order of business was re-landscaping the rear yard including installing armourstone, and updating an existing swimming pool.
April Showers and Spring Flowers
With your gardens, it’s always essential that you exercise caution and not start too soon. April can be a wet, and sometimes cold month, and the threat of frost, combined with wet soil, can both have adverse effects on your garden. Wait until at least mid April, and then keep in mind that frosts can still appear out of nowhere!
Playtime, It’s Serious Work!
Whether it’s imaginative play or physical play, the games and toys that children interact with, from infancy through their pre-teen years, are how they explore the world. Play is a child’s natural means to learn and too often it is neglected in favour of the more structured desk learning that we depend on as a society

“I want to keep building my business and explore my own imagination. To make a living with a positive impact. To be my own entity, proud of how I’ve manifested my purpose and destiny. And the opportunity to give the keys of imagination to my students.”
A Design That Combines Plenty Of Passion, Inspiration & Luxury
Offering all of the ‘perks’ of country living and seclusion, the house is a two-level design and is just over 4,000 square feet. Kelsea mentions that despite its size and stature, there is certainly a feeling of coziness once you are inside. “The house was finished in a charcoal colour, so the exterior does stand out, but not the same way a bright white house may. Instead, it blends in well with the local surroundings which I believe gives it some extra appeal. Inside, there’s three bedrooms on the second level, one primary bedroom and two children’s rooms.

Peaceful Valley Farm: Functional Beauty
While many people would find the task of remodeling their home on their own (with the help of contractors where needed) daunting, Brenda and Tom loved it. They loved hunting out the pieces that spoke to them, and digging into the challenge of transforming their home into something that worked for them. Their favourite rooms now (the kitchen, the master bath, etc.) own that title because they work for their lives so much better now, becoming beautiful and functional.
