There’s been a change, and it’s a great one. Not only for the owners, from a business perspective, but from a personal one as well. Chef Wade Plewes and his partner both in business and life Wendy Stiperski brought their unique style of catering to Orangeville in the form of a storefront so, not only can you enjoy their food at a catered event, you can have it on your table any day of the week.
GSC Orangeville, formerly known as Georgian Shores Catering, was a sister store to the same named business in Midland. “We decided to separate the 2 locations because we simply could not spend as much time at either location that we wanted too”, says Wendy. “Travelling back and forth was taking a toll personally, and we wanted to dedicate ourselves to the Orangeville spot”. No surprise as Chef Wade is very well known in our area delivering catering services throughout Dufferin County and beyond for over 25 years. “Staying in Orangeville just made sense.”
“We also wanted to focus our efforts locally” explains Wendy. This way we can become more rooted in the community and have more time and focus on what makes sense to the needs of the town.
Much too often we only slow down because life takes a major hit to us. This unfortunately happened in the past year when Wendy suffered the tremendous loss of both her mother and father just months apart. “It took quite a toll on me and our family, and this decision made a lot of sense.”
Their food is homemade in-house fresh everyday, and they have a freezer where you can pick up dinner for the coming days ahead, or to keep for one of those “I really don’t want to cook tonight” kind of days. My favourite part about the frozen meals is that everyday from 4-5pm the meals are half priced.
“We wanted to offer half priced meals because in our current financial environment people are struggling with many things including the cost of food. This is a really great way to buy affordable meals, that are homemade, and full of all the nutrients people need to nourish themselves. Seniors love the freezer meals and can have comfort food that is healthy and delicious at a fraction of the cost. Don’t let the freezer meals fool you, they are every bit as tasty as ordering from their daily counter.
The wonderful thing about GSC Orangeville is that whether frozen or not, the food and meals they deliver are delicious. Meals like steak stir-fry, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, BBQ Ribs (one of my personal favourites), soups, salads, and many gluten-free options – and vegetarian too!
The kitchen produces fresh meals every day, so if you have a favourite and don’t see it offered call ahead, “We can cater to your individual needs (within reason)”, says Wendy. If you want it, we can make it.
That goes for their catering services as well. Chef Wade and his team can consult with you on any options you might wish to have for your event or special occasion, no matter how many, or what the budget.
It is important to us as owners, and our entire team that we support all things community. This area has given them so much love and support through the years, and they want to continue to show their appreciation through GSC Orangeville.
It really is a labour of love, that translates to all the delicious food, we in the community, have the privilege of enjoying.
