They support their neighbours in completing their projects and give back whenever possible through various local charities and active involvement with local not-for-profit and subsidized housing boards. Anthony is a board member on Choices Shelter and Support Services in Dufferin County. He is aware that having a safe and secure home is a privilege that not all have, and values playing a role in making it easier for his community to overcome that challenge.
An initiative that they are excited to be working on, is the creation of a community of affordable housing. The homes, which will be no larger than 1000 sq. ft., are still in design. They are currently working on the legislative requirements that come from such a task. One area that they are particularly excited to explore more is supporting farms. With experience that includes restoring barns and updating and replacing fencing, including running electric fencing, they are in the perfect position to help support the many farms that stretch across their region in updating the already existing infrastructure. One tip they like to recommend is switching barn lights to LED. This is one area that can save money in the long run, yet many farms miss out on the opportunity.
