I had the pleasure of speaking with Amanda Steddy of Steddy Styles Interior Design Firm to find out more about her design firm and more specifically her superb taste and style in design.
Although Amanda lives and works in Orangeville, she can be found working her magic all over Ontario and one can revel in the photos of her various projects on her website: steddystyles.com. Steddy Styles employs a staff of three as well as two subcontractors and is looking forward to bringing in an architectural designer soon.
Amanda’s firm is the “Ultimate destination for all things interior.” She has expanded her business with a new extension called Inside Styles, which offers custom and unique pieces, including bespoke draperies. Impressively, over 80% of the items and draperies are proudly made in Canada!
For Amanda, design isn’t just a job – it’s a true passion. When I asked her how her career began, she shared that it all started at age 19, when she bought her first home to flip. Her natural eye for style quickly caught the attention of friends, who began asking her to design their spaces. Word spread fast, and soon she was taking on more clients, drawn to her organic aesthetic and undeniable talent for design. Along the way, she met and married her husband, a real estate professional, and began staging homes for agents. That experience inspired her to take the leap and launch her own business.
When asked what is her inspiration for each project; does it start with a colour or simply a client’s style? Amanda says that she starts by sitting down with her client and they go through the “What’s Your Style?” book and it is then she gets a sense of where to go from there, usually a mix of her organic style and modern farmhouse with the influence of the client’s personality.

The magazine cover photo of the feature unit on Armstrong Street in Orangeville demonstrates the beauty and organic luxurious feel that Amanda creates perfectly.
The exterior is constructed of amazing limestone with striking black detail. Inside it features marble checkered floors and an elevator. This building is just steps away from restaurants and shops on Broadway.
Inside the feature unit, we are treated to a brand new 2 bed, 2 bath open concept home, designed by Amanda with her signature organic luxury.
The Front Entry opens on the luxury vinyl flooring which mimics white oak hardwood, evokes a spacious warm entrance, and introduces the tone for what is to come throughout the home.
A beautiful modern farmhouse bench with rich leather straps invites you to sit, take your shoes off, and stay a while. The wide landscape artwork above anchors the bench and seems to direct you to look further down the hallway after tarrying for a moment or two.

In the living room, one is struck by an organic luxury feel, keeping the space light, bright, and airy with the added wood tones making it warm and inviting. The wall to wall sliding glass doors leading out to the patio provide an extension to the living space. Amanda added fluted panelling above the built-ins and round edges to the fireplace. This incorporates dimension and texture to the white walls making them more inviting. She likes to add depth and texture to the walls using window draperies, as well.

The kitchen and dining area flow seamlessly into the open concept living room, creating a bright, airy atmosphere. While white kitchens are a timeless favourite; they can sometimes feel a bit cold or lacking in personality. To counter this, Amanda introduced a reeded white oak island that warmth and texture, complemented by a quartz countertop and backsplash that continue elegantly into the glass-front upper cabinets. Custom cabinetry going right up to the ceiling not only enhances storage but also draws the eye upward, emphasizing the ceiling height and making the space feel more grand. Brass hardware on the stools, kitchen faucet and pot filler add a touch of warmth and coziness, while the tapered metal pendant lights, finished in a soft textured white, bring both depth and visual interest to the clean, modern silhouette.
In the Guest Bathroom the overall aesthetic is in keeping with the organic luxury incorporating a floating vanity made of white quartz, wall mounted brass faucet, back plated wall sconces, and beautiful ribbed tile that ties in the warmth of the white oak colouring of the unit. The floors are heated, adding to the luxurious feel. A curbless built-in shower completes the space.

The Primary Bedroom does not disappoint. Amanda carries the organic, light, and airy theme with the clean white walls and textured side table shades. The detail is in the striking black, reeded chandelier with a brass interior finish. A cozy muted carpet anchors the room.
Every Primary Bedroom deserves a luxurious ensuite, and Amanda has created one that truly feels like a high-end spa retreat. This bathroom is full of thoughtful, standout features. A custom-built vanity with double sinks sits beneath a sleek black quartz countertop, offering both style and functionality with four spacious cabinet doors for storage. Clever design details include two hidden push-to-open doors within the floor-to-ceiling white oak cabinetry – PLUS an additional discreet cabinet tucked beside the toilet. Large-format porcelain tiles stretch from floor to ceiling in the shower and continue seamlessly around the bathtub, creating a smooth, cohesive look. The black-framed shower features a built-in bench, while brass fixtures, faucets, and a statement chandelier bring a warm, sophisticated touch to the space.

The Second Bedroom has been staged as a light and airy office giving one an option. The same organic feel was incorporated here.
In reading this article, you have surely noticed the many mentions of the terms “organic” and “luxury.” These words, or terms, define Amanda’s design style. She also loves to work with modern farmhouse and always bright and airiness when she designs. These work beautifully and seamlessly into all her projects. It has struck me there is a touch of love, in what she designs.
Looking ahead, Amanda envisions establishing her firm as the leading name in organic and luxury design throughout Dufferin County – serving both residential and commercial clients, including homeowners and builders alike.
In looking through the accompanying photos of Amanda’s designs, I am sure you will agree that she is an incredibly talented lady. It was my pleasure collaborating with her on this article.
