Mervin Kuepfer is Operations Manager for Ridgeway Metal and of course not being familiar with metal forming, I went directly to the source to have him explain the process.

Inuit Weaving
Pangnirtung, which is a stop for the growing tourism industry’s Arctic cruise ships, sees a distinct uptick in tourism during the summer months. During the off-season, the centre might see two or three customers a day, but during the tourism season, the cruise ships can carry a hundred passengers, who come down in groups to visit the centre, while the daily customer count goes up significantly with visitors to the national park.
Beauty Through Simplicity
Roslyn’s favourite moment comes at the start of the process. She grinds her own ink, using a special tool, a suzuri, designed for the process. Drawing water from the lower basin up to the flat palate-like top surface with the edge of the ink block, she swirls it around to draw the rich pigment out, creating her ink. The calming motion of the swirl and the release of the gentle aroma of the ink set Roslyn at ease. In her words, “That’s when I know I can paint”.
Freycinet at Coles Bay Tazmania
The most popular activity at Freycinet is the 45-minute hike, to a viewpoint overlooking Wineglass Bay. From a paved carpark the flat meandering pathway with occasional rock steps ascends 190 metres up to a saddle shaped exposure overlooking the bay.
