- 1 grapefruit; plus additional grapefruit for garnish
- 2 cups ice
- 3 x 12oz cans of ginger soda
- handful of fresh basil
- 1/4 cup basil simple syrup
Juice one large grapefruit and segment additional grapefruit for garnish if preferred. Fill a pitcher half way with ice. Pour soda, fresh grapefruit juice and simple syrup. Mix well. Garnish with grapefruit slices and fresh basil.
Moscow Mule (yields 8)
- 4 cups ice
- 4 cups ginger beer
- 3 cups vodka
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 cup mint leaves, plus more for garnish
- 2 limes, sliced, plus more for garnish
In a large punch bowl, combine ice, ginger beer, vodka, lime juice, lime slices, and mint.
Ladle punch into glasses or copper mugs and garnish with more mint.
- 8 cups cold water
- ½ cup honey
- lemons slices and fresh mint for garnish
Combine water and honey in a pot on low heat. Stir in honey until dissolved. Once dissolved, remove from heat. Stir in fresh lemon juice and lemon essential oil. Serve in glass with ice, rather than adding ice directly to the lemonade which waters it down. Add lemon and mint for garnish.
- 1.5 oz Gin
- 4 oz club soda
- 2 tbsp simple syrup
- fresh raspberries
- 2 tbsp lime juice
Muddle two raspberries in the bottom of a glass. Add the rest of the ingredients together with ice. Garnish with a lime slice and more raspberries.
Blackberry Breeze (yields 2)
- 1/2 cup blackberries
- 1/2 cup light rum
- 1 tsp sugar
- juice of 2 limes
In a small bowl, muddle blackberries and set aside.
Place mint leaves in bottom of glasses then and blackberry mixture on top. Add rum, sugar and lime juice and stir to combine. Top with crushed ice.
Add club soda and garnish with mint leaves and more blackberries.
Basil Simple Syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup loosely packed fresh basil
Place sugar and water in a small pan over medium heat until sugar is fully dissolved, about 2 minutes. Place syrup in a glass tupperware container or squeeze bottle. Cover and chill for a couple hours.
For the Basil Simple Syrup: Add a handful of fresh basil to dissolved mixture and steep for 15-20 minutes. Strain and discard basil.
