RÜDESHEIMER COFFEE

original recipe by Hans Karl Adam (makes one serving)

  • 3 sugar cubes
  • 40 ml brandy (1 1/3 oz)
  • 120 ml strong brewed coffee (4 oz)
  • whipped cream (sweetened with a little vanilla sugar)
  • chocolate shavings
  • Special equipment (optional) – Rüdesheimer coffee cup and saucer (a regular heatproof coffee mug is fine)
  • long spoon

DIRECTIONS:

Place the sugar cubes in the mug. Heat the brandy in the microwave for about 30 seconds then pour onto the sugar cubes. Using a long match, carefully light the brandy in the mug. Stir with the long spoon until the sugar has completely dissolved. (If the flame doesn’t extinguish after a minute, place a plate on top of the cup)

Make the coffee and pour it into the cup with the sugar and brandy. Finally, top with the slightly sweetened whipped cream and chocolate shavings.


PEAR COLLINS

  • 60 ml Pear Brandy
  • 30 ml Lemon juice
  • 30 ml Sugar syrup
  • 50 ml Soda water
  •  Lemon wedge
  •  Slice of pear
  •  Cocktail cherry

DIRECTIONS:

Shake the Pear Brandy, lemon juice and sugar syrup with ice cubes. Strain into a collins glass over fresh ice cubes and top up with soda water. Garnish with the lemon wedge, slice of pear and cocktail cherry.


PINK HONEY MARTINI

Cocktail made with honey liqueur, vodka and cranberry juice.

  • 1 part honey liqueur
  • 2 parts Vodka
  • splash cranberry juice
  • dash of sweet & sour mix

DIRECTIONS:

Shake together in a cocktail mixer and pour into a martini glass.


THE NAUGHTY GERMAN

  • 3.5 cl Jagermeister
  • 1 cl simple syrup
  • 1 cl Cherry liqueur
  • 1.5 cl lemon juice

DIRECTIONS:

Add all liquids into a cocktail mixer & shake it. Pour it into the glass and add the lemon zest garnish


BRANDY SOUR

  • 1 part Brandy
  • 1 part sugar syrup
  • (To make sugar syrup dissolve one part sugar in one part hot water.)
  • splash lemon
